Welcome to Lunchbox Notes 🎉
Welcome to my Lunchbox Notes crew - my newsletter for creative people looking to uplevel their careers, find their niche, or just...feel a little less lonely. ;)
Expect a mix of advice & insights — kind of like a boost of creative caffeine, a chat with your career advisor, and a hug from your mom, all in one. 🎨☕💼🏢 🤗
You’ll also be the first to know about my upcoming projects, books, and tools designed to turbocharge your creative pursuits.
Who the heck am *I*? Glad you asked.
I’m Cathy Davenport Lee, and I'm a digital creative exec with over 15 years of experience concepting, designing, and managing teams to create interactive products, content for integrated marketing campaigns, and emerging technology. I've managed creative teams for more than 16 years; I ran a large creative team at HBO for almost decade and am currently running a product design & marketing creative team in the tech sector. Projects that I have worked on and overseen have garnered more than 80 major industry awards.
Yeah so those are my credentials, but they don't really cover what I'm "about."
What I give a profound shit about:
Helping creative people, especially those who don’t fit the mold, go after their goals in a way that feels in congruence with their values.
Specifically designers and other creative people because that’s what I know.
If you found your way here – then I want to inspire you to take control of your career and mold it the way you want it to be. I believe in you. I don’t know you; but I know you can do anything.
No matter what your body looks like, or what your personality is, or whether you got a fancy degree, or what people who don’t actually know your capabilities told you about yourself.
Because, and this is the truth:
You have all the power you need to do whatever you want with your creative career.
You do.
Right now. Right. The F*ck. Now.
Did you feel that little tingle? The little zap of electricity?
That’s it, right there. That little spark that woke up — that’s your power, hovering warmly there under your skin, waiting for you to let it come out.
Let's freaking do this.
- Cathy
