I took my kids to the local science center recently. We saw a lot of things, but one of the most popular exhibits was the bubble-making area.
There are various stations where you can blow a bubble, with various implements.
A square bubble blower. A triangle one. A cubed one. A webbed one. A large, rectangular, banner-size bubble-maker that you pull a cord to raise a soapy bar out of liquid. So many different kinds of shapes to blow bubbles!
Yet, no matter which mold you choose to blow the bubble from, it eventually always turns into a sphere, a circular shape.
Can’t fight with the laws of physics, right? It’s interesting how easy it is to forget that.
We spend so much time trying dress ourselves up as fancy, to project a certain image. We push and prod ourselves into triangles, rectangles, and squares when our innate nature is to be a circle.
Never realizing that what people paid the money for, showed up for, or fell in love with, was the circle.
For that beautiful, fragile, iridescent, swirly piece of wonder that seems so ordinary and ho-hum to us.
In case things might have been more of a struggle than usual the past few weeks, I just wanted to remind you of how magical you are. No matter what you are thinking about how you look to others, there are people out there showing up just because of who you already are.
