Hey, how’s your week going so far?
I don’t have a lot to say today (it’s shocking I know), but I do have a prezzie!
Are you or someone you know interested in motion? It’s one of my first loves in digital design. I cannot get over the transformative, emotional power of motion.
It’s because HOW you say something is more important than what comes out of your mouth (or your computer). 70-93% of communication is non-verbal!
If a picture’s worth a thousand words, then a video is worth TEN thousand.
Even the way you bring a logo onto a screen can speak volumes about what a brand stands for.
Add to that idea the constraint of having 3-5 short seconds to grab someone’s attention before they move on past your content…and motion design is a CRITICAL communication tool that any brand or business needs to leverage get more reach on their products and ideas.
That being said, I wanted to share a bunch of resources that I put together with a couple volunteers from one of my teams, originally to share with a nonprofit called The Animation Project.
I came across the info again the other day and realized that it’s really helpful information, and anyone who’s interested in this information should have access to it.
So, here it is! This link will ask you to copy a google slide deck — click yes — this ensures you have your own clean, private copy of this document.
>>>Click here for your own copy of The Wide, Wide World of Motion Design Careers.
I’d send it as a pdf…but there’s MOTION in it, because…you know, MOTION design..so I wanted you to be able to see all the animated bits in all their glory. A pdf just wouldn’t cut it.
Until tomorrow!
Be kind to yourself.
Love,
Your Design Mom
P.S. Save the Darlings Day 12 is up on my IG here.
P.P.S. By the way, the Animation Project is an AMAZING nonprofit org, and if you have any money to spare, I really suggest donating to them because they are doing great work. They help empower students who might not have as much money or access go after careers in the motion industry.
